Back to the Mountains!
RAGBRAI was everything I hoped it would be—hard, beautiful, and completely worth it.
450 miles over 7 days and about 17,000 feet of climbing across Iowa. I'm honestly surprised at how good I feel. I'm not too wiped out, and I'm excited to shift gears back toward hiking, strength training, and eating the way my body feels best.
After a week of convenience food and fueling on the bike, I'm craving my meal prep, big salads, heavy vegetables, fiber, and getting back into my normal routine. There's something so grounding about coming home to healthy habits.
This Week's Training Plan
Monday
Strength workout
3-mile hike, walk, or easy jog
Tuesday
6-mile hike
Goal: 1,500 ft elevation gain
Wednesday
Easy 5-mile hike
Keep the elevation moderate and focus on recovery
Thursday
3-mile run
Starbucks route or DuPont Trail
Friday
Bootcamp
Saturday
Chambers Bay with a 10-lb pack
Sunday
Ride the Gig Harbor Trail
I'm grateful for what my body was able to do last week, and now it's time to build toward hiking season again.
