An Approach to the Holidays

With Christmas around the corner, we thought we would bring back an oldie, but a goodie that HartsSpace has posted before: The Intuitive Eater’s Holiday Bill of Rights. These “Bill of Rights” were inspired via the authors of Intuitive Eating, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch.

Everyone’s attitude surrounding the holidays are unique. Some really look forward to spending time with family, friends, and good food. Others feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness over the idea of getting together with certain members of the family or friend group and may be unsure how they want to approach the holidays in terms of their health and food goals. And others simply dread the season.

Whatever your anticipation and whatever your intentions and goals are during the holidays, these Bill of Rights serve as a reminder that it is okay to enjoy yourself if you want and it is okay to set boundaries with yourself and the people around you. You know yourself the best and however you choose to dive into the season, make sure you are making the best choice for you at this time in your life. Our primary goals should involve an approach that leaves us feeling empowered and without guilt. If it doesn’t happen the way you intended, remember it is okay to pick up right back with your goals the next day.

Without further ado,

There you have it! We hope this was helpful and we hope you have a wonderful holiday. If you are looking for more support and aren’t already part of our online group, join us here. We’d love to have you.
