The Power of Showing Up: Community, Healing, and the Stories That Connect Us

At HartsSpace, we’ve had the privilege of walking with people through big changes, quiet seasons, new beginnings, and the hard stuff in between. Over time, one truth keeps rising to the top.
Healing happens in community.
That’s why we started the Weekly Accountability Group. It began as a small, simple space to check in, offer support, and talk about real things like food, boundaries, mental health, and how to care for ourselves when life feels like too much. Now, it's one of our favorite places to gather. What makes it meaningful isn’t a perfect routine or a polished success story. It’s the people who keep showing up. Our Accountability Group is open to anyone looking for support around health, healing, and nervous system care. You do not need to be a current HartsSpace client to attend. All are welcome.
This week, we’re holding space for Sue, a longtime group member who continues to show up with honesty, humor, and heart. Her story is about change, resilience, and the power of doing the work even when it’s messy. She’s been through life transitions and still makes space for her health. We’re so grateful she’s sharing with us this Sunday.

If you’re looking for another perspective on the power of local connection, I also want to share a podcast episode featuring Stefanee McDonald. She owns Sound Strategy Marketing and handles all the marketing behind HartsSpace. If you’ve come to one of our events, you’ve probably met her.

In this episode, Stef talks about growing up in Olympia, starting her business here, and how real community support helped her build confidence and momentum. She shares openly about imposter syndrome, finding connection offline, and what it means to build something meaningful alongside people who truly see you.
At HartsSpace, there are many ways to connect. In addition to our Weekly Accountability Group, we host Walk & Talks, community meetups, seasonal retreats, and offer one-on-one sessions with our team of providers. Whether you prefer quiet conversation or shared movement, we create spaces that help you feel grounded and supported.
So here’s to Sue, to Stefanee, and to everyone who keeps showing up. Even when it is hard. Even when it is uncomfortable. Even when it would be easier to stay quiet.
You are what makes this community feel like a place people can land.
And if you are reading this: your story matters too.
