Monday inspiration
Katie’s Monday Inspiration — Hello, October!
I can’t believe October is already here.
As we start gearing up for our Wild Within Winter Retreat in January, I’m finding myself deeply immersed in fall—the colors, the crisp mornings, and squeezing in those last outdoor adventures before winter settles in.
This morning, what I feel most is gratitude.
Gratitude for my body.
For my health.
For all the things this body still allows me to do.
I’ve also been practicing some deeper meditation lately, and it has brought me a tremendous amount of peace and solace during a season of change.
One thing keeps coming back to me:
Be here. Right here. Right now.
Whatever I’m doing, wherever I am, this moment is the one I actually have. And so often, the clarity or solution I’m searching for is found by simply coming back to the present.
So I’m starting this Monday with a dark, early-morning walk on the beach before the rest of the day gets going.
This week I’m on the Columbia River in Oregon with family, kayaking for the next four days—which sounds pretty fantastic. But I’m also still training for Mt. Ellinor, so my commitment is to keep my feet moving: 10,000 steps a day through walking, running, or hiking. And yes, I brought my kettlebells.
Momentum matters.
I’ve worked hard to build consistency with movement, strength, and eating, and I don’t want travel to mean abandoning that rhythm.
Actually, the structure here may be perfect for me: set breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. Less random snacking and grazing—which is definitely where my consistency can wander.
So that’s my intention for this week:
Stay present.
Get my steps.
Keep lifting.
Kayak and enjoy my family.
Eat at meals and keep it simple.
Keep making space for meditation and gratitude.
Then it’s home this weekend, and hopefully I’ll make it back in time for our Hartsspace event at Adrianne’s!
October feels like a beautiful reminder that things can be changing all around us while we stay grounded right where we are.
What are you committing to this week?

Love this Katie thank you for sharing!!
