Welcome to the HartsSpace Health Hub Unplugged

We’re so glad you’re here. For those of you who were part of the old health hub, thanks for working with us during this website transition! If you're new here, WELCOME!!

This space was created as a more intentional alternative to traditional social media. We want this to be a place where we can slow down, connect meaningfully, and make health (in all its realms) a priority.

Inside this group you can expect conversations around:

• Nutrition and metabolic health

 • Eating psychology and our relationship with food

 • Mental health and nervous system regulation

Im Karin, a 60 year old creative crone spirit. Overall, Im working on a more healthy and active last third of my life. One thing Im currently focused on is consistent meal planning habits to keep my snacking at a minimum. Not always successful but more on track than off so that's an improvement.

From my Blog and plan for the week!

Happy Monday

What a beautiful weekend.

I spent time gathering with Hartsspace, practicing yoga with Oriana, hiking the beautiful Big Creek, and finishing the weekend with meditation at the Seattle Sangha with a friend. I felt grateful, connected, and fully present.

But I also want to remind you: it’s never all perfect.

Last week was actually a difficult one for me. I woke up most mornings not feeling my best and not quite feeling like myself. This morning, I finally woke up feeling a little more like me, and I was incredibly grateful for that.

Great post, thank you! Beautiful places and faces, per HeartsSpace's usual!! For me, also not knowing how I'll feel when I wake up (anxiety), key priorities are meditation, movement, and nutrient dense food. If I prirotize them, then I feel much more regulated. If not, then every-single-thing is just harder. A key hacks is to put movement clothing on the side of the bathtub, so when I get up I put them on and don't have to 'decide'. Once the 'uniform' is on, my agreement (with me, myself, and I) is to move for at least 15 minutes. To play. Once in the movement, 99 times out of 100, I forget I didn't wanna to start with. I've found that I don't get motivation and then do the thing. Doing the thing gives me the motivation. Kinda counter-intutive, at least to me.

Life is lifey and adulting is tough. Huge congrats to everyone, doing all the things, that fuel thier heart, support their beloveds, and help their community. 💞

See you Sunday for a Hike

Monday Planning: Routines, Discipline & Getting Back to What Works

Good morning!

I was away for the weekend, and even with the change in routine, I was able to knock out a few runs. It reminded me that routines don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.

For me, discipline isn’t about doing everything exactly right. It’s about knowing what matters to me and continuing to come back to it.

This week, my physical priorities are weights, adding mileage, and preparing my legs for hiking and trail running.

Katie ~ You expressed it so well. Routines for me are the baseline I get to return to, home base. Life gets lifey and its easy to get harried...medtation, movement, recovery, good nutrients, and Beloveds (the routine) are resorative. Prioritizing them make me available for the rest of the fun!

Need a motivation boost!!!!!

MONDAY INSPIRATION

I love taking a few minutes every Monday morning to reflect on the week behind me—and even more importantly, to set clear intentions for the week ahead.

I make a plan, while also giving myself permission to be flexible. Life changes. Plans change. But having a direction helps me stay intentional, disciplined, and inspired in how I live each day.

My morning usually starts with meditation and time connecting with my Higher Power. It's a reminder that I'm not in control of everything, but I can choose where I place my attention. I can choose how I nourish myself, how I move my body, and how I show up each day.

As we move into hiking season, I'm continuing to prepare my body for the adventures ahead.

I also listened to a wonderful podcast this week about building habits. It talked about how discouraging it can feel when…
