Monday Musing
Good Morning, Hartsspace!
Fall is such a beautiful season of harvest, transformation, and letting go.
As the leaves change colors and nature prepares to slow down, I find myself reflecting on my own season of life.
What are you ready to release?
What have you been resisting letting go of? What changes are happening in your life that you might be holding on to a little too tightly?
Are you willing to go a little deeper this season? To slow down, reflect, and make space for something new?
Movement This Week: The Art of Tapering
Last week, I mentioned tapering before our Mt. Ellinor hike this Sunday. But what does that actually mean?
Tapering means taking it easy, not doing nothing!
The goal is to arrive at the weekend with fresh, rested muscles, ready for the climb.
That means backing off vigorous workouts, heavy leg weights, big climbs, and anything that leaves your muscles fatigued.
It's about moderation, not inactivity.
For most people, normal, moderate exercise is perfect. Keep moving, but give your body the opportunity to recover.
My movement plan this week:
Monday: Short run, 1–2 miles
Tuesday: Rest day
Wednesday: Bootcamp (modified and lighter)
Thursday: Easy bike ride, 1 hour
Friday: Light bootcamp, nothing strenuous
Saturday: Rest and prepare
Sunday: Mt. Ellinor hike!
Nourishment & Harvest
This week, I'm focusing on good foundational eating. Plenty of protein, colorful vegetables, nourishing carbohydrates, hydration, and foods that support recovery and energy.
I'm especially looking forward to roasting harvest vegetables, enjoying the rich colors and flavors of fall, and appreciating the abundance of this season.
Mindset & Reflection
I'm making time to journal about change and transformation in my own season of life.
What am I holding on to? What am I ready to release? Where might slowing down actually help me move forward?
Sometimes growth looks like pushing ourselves, climbing mountains, and challenging our limits.
And sometimes growth looks like resting, trusting, releasing, and allowing life to unfold.
Both are important. Both take practice.
As we head into another beautiful fall week, I encourage you to find a little space for reflection, movement, nourishment, and gratitude.
What's one thing you're ready to let go of this season?
Happy Monday, Hartsspace!
Community, not Competition.
