Switching up my eating plan
So a while back I shared a post about fiber and how essential it is for health but after doing more digging and researching (which is my jam), I'm learning just how crucial it is to our nervous system and mental health... That excess cortisol in your system? Guess what binds to it and moves it out of your body? Fiber!! We talk a lot about protein and it's importance for muscle and neurotransmitter support but that often means we forget about things like fiber. I like to think of protein as the stimulator for neurotransmitter production and fiber as the regulator. So for the next few months I'm hoping to put more emphasis on my fiber intake via bean-based meals. I was looking at recipes and found this site with a ton of ideas for recipes using black beans! I figured I'd share it here for anyone interested. And wanted to normalize the fact that eating and nutrition are so often a trial and error process. Even as a nutritionist, I'm learning new things all the time, trying new things, switching it up... Sometimes I wish there was an easy formula for eating for everyone but really our food choices should be changed up, depending on the season of life and what else you are carrying 💚
